Week 3: Walls done!

Thom's team was in for two days topping up the walls to the new finished second floor height and doing infill where he could.  We still can't remove some of the masonry for fear of weakening the entire structure.  Once we braced the walls, Marek was back to remove the first floor floor so he could get his demolition completion payment.

By end of week, the walls were formed, poured, stripped and waterproofed.

Week 2: Excavation and footings

Now that the demo has cleared the way, Carlos from BR Landscaping was in to remove all the huge concrete slabs around the property, as well as excavate the garage and "crawl space" area.  Footings were framed and poured by the end of the week, and forms for the walls were delivered!

Week 1: Demo Begins

A busy first week on the site!  While demo started outside (the existing standalone garage and small back and front porches), George and his team went into the attic to suck out the old blow in insulation.  This will make for a cleaner, safer jobsite and speed the interior demo along when we get inside.

By the end of the week, we had gotten as far as we could on the demolition.  Any more work and the walls would start falling down :-).
